At Hot Water Maintenance, we recommend having your system serviced at least once a year by our licensed plumbers. In areas with hard water, a service should be performed twice as often. Minor inspections and testing should be completed up to 3 times a year.
If your hot water heater is producing a significant amount of water—more than a bucket’s worth within 24 hours—or there is a visible leak, contact your local technician as soon as possible. If possible refrain from using the system and do not attempt any repairs yourself.
Continuous flow or ‘instant’ hot water systems require a steady flow of water to keep them activated. If the water flow drops too low, then it will turn off and your water will go cold. This problem could indicate issues with your plumbing system.
Heat pump hot water systems use latent heat in the air to increase the temperature of the water inside the tank. Electricity pumps a refrigerant around the system, which conducts the heat and transfers it inside. Our team includes licensed refrigeration mechanics who can install any of these systems in your home or business.
There are several requirements your property must have if you want to get the most out of your solar hot water system. Firstly, your roof should ideally be north-facing (if it is sloped) and have plenty of free sun-exposed space for the installation. You also need room for the PV system and storage tank. Our team can perform an on-site inspection to determine if your home is suitable. Simply call us to arrange one.
